Day Five started out with a somewhat frightening drive through northwestern North Dakota. With rain falling and temperatures below freezing, the roads were nothing but ice. When asked, a Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the question “Is it safe?” with the answer “You can try it.” Not something we wanted to hear. Eventually we made it to Hazen, ND and had an informal concert after a wonderful cafeteria lunch. Mmmm, school food pizza….. That evening, we got in to Mandan, ND for our final concert. It went fairly well and we were all ready to be getting home to take a rest from playing.
Day Six was the trip home. We left Mandan that morning around 8 and got into Fargo about 11. After unloading the truck, it was good to be getting home.
